Tumblr alternatives that are rarely discussed, especially when it comes to niche and adult-oriented communities.
I've noticed that people are still searching for Tumblr alternatives for NSFW-friendly platforms, so I decided to turn my experience into a short review post.
I've noticed people are still asking question about Tumblr alternatives for NSFW content even today. So I'm turning my answer into a post.
I I’ve occasionally explored platforms where users can share and interact with user-generated content. Sometimes I shared my own content, sometimes just reposting someone else's content. That's when I did a little research about social networks where amateurs can share their content and/or enjoy other people work.
Seems similar to what most people use(d) tumblr for: It functions as a content-sharing platform with a feed-based structure, where users can post and interact with images, GIFs, and other media. It has a twitter meets tumblr meets onlyfans vibe to it. I've been using it for almost 10 years now and i can say i loved it much more 3,4 years ago than today. There are a lot of cam girls and porn stars also there are Amateur content creators, but many of them have left in past 5 years when sharesome started pushing cam girls and paid content. But they are slowly coming back to what sharesome used to be before. The site looks polished and greatly built and relatively easy to use. User experience is ok, design is nice and clean and it works ok, it has some bugs, but nothing too wild and the developer team works on it. There are advertisements, also nothing too wild, usually while you scroll you'll se some NSFW related ads from time to time and also one advertisement in comments section, unless you pay for premium/ads free account, with premium account you'll have a tag "premium" next to your username in comments section and you'll be able to save posts in your favorite so you can find them easily. I find that pretty strange, paying to be able to save content in favorites, but ok... You can create topics, or apply to moderate another topics with another users. Worth mentioning is their flame token which you can use to promote your content or topics.
If you wanna take a peek, you can do it without even creating an account, but to be able to like, share, message, and upload content you'll need to create account and verify email address. To be able to upload content you'll need to verify yourself on website as content creator, verified star or Brand website, also you'll need to provide photo of yourself with face included and holding paper with code provided by sharesome and date.
If you're into kinky stuff, this thing is definitely for you. It has wide range of stuff from softcore to brutal BDSM. It is created for amateur content creators and it's purpose is for people to communicate, share stuff, create events online and in person, I'm not into meeting people but i can see others are really enjoying it. As a regular/free user you won't be able to see videos, so if you wanna watch videos you'll have to pay monthly and since Internet is flooded with videos I'm not interested into paying. The team that's behind the thing seem great though and doing a good job 😉
To be able to see anything but login page, you'll need to create an account and confirm email address, and for Fetlife that's enough and you can already start posting content. Welcome to the magic world of adult stuff 😈
Let's call it instagram for NSFW photos (it used to be called pornstagram or something like that). It's great if you're an amateur producer of the content aka sharing your own photos. Also good if you want to see photos from other amateur people/couples. I've been using it for some time now and the community is great, even though the site is buggy at times. This could be a good Tumblr alternative for people who share their own content and want to interact with like-minded people. Not so good for camgirls and other pros, since community seems to prefer amateur, approachable people, similar to themselves which is highly appreciated from my end.
Website is pretty easy to use and it looks also simple, maybe it needs some upgrades to look a little bit more modern (that's my taste).
To be able to peek on content, you'll have to register new account and confirm your email address, if you'd like to post your own content than you'll need to get verified by providing photo of yourself (upper part), holding peace of paper with your username and date written on it.
Reddit main purpose is not NSFW content, but it has so many great topics/blogs to enjoy hot stuff, also it is not mainly for Amateur content but it has quite a few amateur content creators that are sharing their amazing content. It is a little bit annoying to get to those posts, you need to allow NSFW content in your account settings, you also need to disable blurry NSFW Content if you wanna see NSFW content before clicking on blured images to see what's behind. And also i find it annoying that most of the times even with enabled NSFW content you still get a pop-up from time to time, randomly, to confirm you're 18+ and you wanna see NSFW content. Reddit is a huge website, and for basic usage purposes it is relatively easy to use and get used to. If you wanna create your own topic and moderate it, than be ready to spent some good time into setting it up and getting visitors.
To take a peek on Reddit you don't need account, you just need to click like 100 times that you're over 18 and you wanna see NSFW content, but to be able to interact with content and other users you'll need to create account.
After creating account you'll need ro verify your email address and you can join ro many topics. If you're planning to post content and make lots of comments and follow lots of users in first half an hour, don't. You'll get blocked and marked as bot and than fun starts...
Each platform has its own strengths and weaknesses. This post reflects only my personal experience using them over time. If you're exploring alternatives, it's worth trying a few and seeing what fits your preferences best.
I may update this post in the future if I come across other platforms worth mentioning.
I will be updating this post from time to time when i find something worth mentioning so keep an eye from time to time on this blog post. Until next time 🙂
